E.L.F Blush Brush Review

So I bought this a) to give elf brushes a try and b) because I wanted a contour brush. I know this is called a “blush brush”, but it’s really not shaped well for blush. It’s actually pretty flat. I like round brushes for my blush.
I got this brush for about $2, which is a use reason I wanted to try elf brushes. They’re cheap!
Anyway, I don’t like this brush for contour…I’m not really crazy about the brush in general. It doesn’t pick up a lot of product. I use a MAC powder for contouring and this brush can’t pick it up and apply it to my skin. So I just use this brush as a highlighting brush.

Overall I’m not crazy about this brush and because of that I don’t think I’ll buy any other elf brushes. I guess the more you pay the more you get as far as quality.

Okay followers! I DESPERATELY want this palette! It’s beautiful! Only problem is it’s $55 and I’m a poor college student.
So do any of you know where I can find this palette for cheap? I’ve looked everywhere online and I can’t find anything cheaper. Does anyone know?!

Lush haul/review

I went into Lush yesterday while I was at the mall. I can’t be in that general area and NOT go into this store. This was my second time in the store and I’m already so obsessed with it. The first time I went to this store, I was kind of in a rush because I was with my boyfriend and he was kinda freaking out in there, so I only bought one thing. So this time, I definitely took my time and got what I wanted.
If you’ve never been to Lush or have never heard of it, here’s the deal: it’s a handmade cosmetics store. Everything is 100% vegetarian and most of it is vegan. Pretty much all the ingredients that go into these products can be found at your local grocery market, yet it’s all organic. They sell a variety of products like soaps, bath fizzers, skincare…pretty much anything that goes in your bathroom. If you ever come across one, go inside and look around!

Cosmetic Warrior Mask

So this was the thing I got the first time I was in the store. I bought it again this time because I’m running low and it’s past the expiration date (on the bottom/label of nearly everything in the store, there are two dates telling you when it was made and when it expires. Plus the masks need to be kept in the refrigerator. It also tells you who made it, which reassures you that this stuff is all handmade).
Cosmetic Warrior is a facial mask that helps with acne. I have pretty normal skin that gets oily occasionally and sometimes I get breakouts. Every night after I clean my face, I put a layer of this all over my face and leave it on for around 8 minutes (the directions say 5 to 10). After, I wash it off with warm water. This stuff is made with a certain type of garlic, white grapes, and eggs, along with some other ingredients. The garlic gives it a really weird smell…it doesn’t smell very good. But it definitely works! My skin has become so clear thanks to this! I definitely recommend it if you have acne!

Fresh Pharmacy Facial Cleanser

I got Fresh Pharmacy as a sample the first time I was in the store. That was about a month ago and I stttiiiiillll have a good amount of my little sliver. This stuff lasts forever and it’s wonderful! This is my new favorite cleanser. It comes in a chunk, as seen in the picture. Sizes can vary, and the pricing of this goes by weight. If you don’t want a lot, the people that work there can cut you a piece that will equal the amount you want to pay. This cleanser has camomile lotion in it so it’s very soothing so it’s great if you have sensitive skin. And it makes your skin soooo soft!

Sex in the Shower Emotibomb

This is an emotibomb. It’s basically like a bath fizzer, but for the shower. You put it at the bottom of the shower and the water dissolves it. As it dissolves, it fizzes and steams and releases this amazing smell! This one smells like jasmine and rose. I also smell some lavender…although it’s not listed in the ingredients. There is some ginger in this, which is supposed to make you feel relaxed.
I bought this on a whim, because the guy was telling me about it and I was interested. Especially in the relaxing part. Plus is smells amazing. So I tried it this morning. I tried breaking it so I could get like 2 or 3 uses out of it, but it kinda crumbled. It’s hard to break. So I took some crumbles and threw them in the shower. It dissolved pretty quick, but I could smell it for a bit. I’m sure if I throw the whole thing in there it’d be a lot stronger, but I didn’t want to chuck $5 in the shower all at once.
Also, the jasmine in this acts as an aphrodisiac, which is why it’s called Sex in the Shower. It’s supposed to get guys all hot and bothered and get them in the shower with you to “conserve water”. Cute concept. Not sure if that is actually true. Although when my boyfriend walked into the bathroom after I got out of the shower he said “it’s smells good in here”.

Brazened Honey Mask

I went into the store yesterday knowing I wanted a product that would brighten my skin, because lately I feel like it’s been pretty dull. The girl suggested this. I bought it and tried it last night in place of Cosmetic Warrior. It’s got ground almonds, so it’s kind of like a scrub. When I was applying it and rubbing it around, I noticed it started to burn a little. Not for long, but enough for me to notice and red the ingredients thinking there was some kind of chilli or pepper, but there isn’t. Not sure what makes the slight burning sensation, but it goes away quick. This stuff also doesn’t smell very well, but it also works wonders. This morning I noticed my skin already looking brighter and feeling the softest it’s felt in years.

Mint Julips Lip Scrub

I went into the store with this at the top of my list. My lips get dry really easy and they tend to peel and lip butter alone doesn’t do the trick. So I bought this to remove all the flakiness. It does it job perfectly and smells and tastes delicious! It smells like mint chocolate candies and it tastes mostly like minty sugar (because that’s basically what it is). After I rub this all over my lips, I lick off the excess and apply my Korres lip butter. My lips haven’t been this soft in the longest time. Thanks to this stuff, I can wear lip stick without my lip stick settling in all the little cracks and dry spots on my lips.

Each Peach Massage Bar

This is probably my favorite product. The first time I was in Lush, a girl tested it on my arm and I fell in love. It melts on your skin leaving it silky smooth and smelling like lemony peaches! This can take a perfume’s place. I can still smell it on me even after a good 5 hours of working. Definitely leave it in a cool place though. This will start melting just with your own body heat, so don’t leave it somewhere hot.

Sexy Peel Soap

This time I got a sample of this Sexy Peel soap. I smelled some while I was shopping and I loved the fresh citrus smell, but I didn’t feel like buying a giant chunk of soap at the time, so I got a free little chunk. I showered with it this morning and the smell of the soap actually stays with you even after the shower. I’ve had problems with soaps and body washes not staying with me. Like even with the Philosophy body washes, I can’t smell it on me after I get out of the shower. This stuff, I can still smell! Definitely purchasing some next time I go in, and probably going to get some other soaps!

Needless to say, this store has taken over nearly every aspect of my bath/skincare life. I absolutely love every bit of it. I wish I had more money so I could buy one of everything! If you get the chance, take a look around. You won’t be disappointed!
